How To Setup RAID on MAC in macOS
RAID or a Redundant Array of Independent Disks is a powerful technology that can help improve your Mac’s performance, protect your data from drive failures or increase usable capacity of your storage.
There are many RAID types but with the Disk Utility application which is built into any macOS you will have only two main options. First is RAID 0 also called Striped and second is RAID 1 also called Mirrored.
And because in my previous video I showed you fastest 32 TB NVME RAID using four addlink S95 8 TB drives and the Sonnet m.2 4×4 PCI Express Silent Card I will use for this tutorial also the RAID 0 option. I will use for it my Mac Pro 2019, but this tutorial is valid for any Mac or Hackintosh.
Let’s open Disk Utility which is in your Applications/Utilities folder or you can use Spotlight and just search for “Disk U”… Disk Utility.
