HOW TO ADD macOS DOCK SEPARATOR

In Terminal App of your choice execute below commands:

Standard macOS Dock Separator:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{ "tile-type" = "spacer-tile"; }'

killall Dock

Smaller macOS Dock Separator:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{"tile-type"="small-spacer-tile";}'

killall Dock

killall Dock – restarts the Dock and lets you apply the changes without the need of logging out or rebooting your Mac.
