I may go with the base model, the Vega II or the Duo, and 3rd party RAM.
Xeons have not been price cut yet, but as Threadripper and Epyc keeps putting pressure on Intel at the high end, they may have no choice buy to drop the price on the at least some of Xeon-W line.
I don’t think Xeon prices will drop. It’s an enterprise product. Maybe in several years…
What I can see it’s not over priced for the needs of high end users you can upgrade it !!! Now what other Apple product can be upgraded with no real problems well for Apple. The hardware is cutting edge look at the spec on any system out in the windows world, they are running around the same if not more for older CPU’s and if it is the same CPU the system is not built as well.

This is definitely the wrong place – but how can I contact you when I don’t receive the mail to confirm my e-mail?
on the email you get after registration
I love the look of the new machine, the performance seems outstanding- but for my needs, I really just need to hackintosh-ize my PC at home I already have. Even for those that NEED this level of performance, seems like you can save a bunch of money going the hackintosh route. However, if someone has a spare XDR monitor lying around- I’d definitely take that!
I have had it with Mac. I started out on Mac SE 2 then Unix Silicon graphics machines, then to linux, then to Windows various flavours, Finally Apples for the convenience and the audio and colour calibration.
Now I am disabled and on a disability Pension, and I find Apple absolutely unapproachable – in all ways. The ludicrous prices, and the whole dumping on the people who made them what they are TODAY, leaves a bad taste. Once one is not in a tip top position, one quickly learns who supports and who does not. Apple does Not. Steinberg do, Avid do, endless companies do. But the giant Apple? No. So I will never support them even with my very limited budget. Serves them right for stealing the Beatles Company name (and their promise to the Beatles Apple Company that they would NEVER enter the Music Industry. lol ).
Hi Teresa, I am just waiting, that you show us a budget way to beat these machines for a fraction of their cost 😉 Great work!!
nice, but that would need some sponsors
